Michael Bond

 

Thomas Michael Bond was born on 13th January 1926 and sadly passed away on the 27th June 2017 when he was 91. He began writing stories about a bear called Paddington in 1958 he was also a cameraman for BBC while he was writing Paddington. He began writing in 1945 while working with the army in Cairo, which is the capital of Egypt, and sold his first short story to the magazine London opinion.

He sold over 35 million copies in 30 different languages Paddington is still a massive hit all over the world even though he sadly died. Michael Bond lived very close to Paddington station that’s why he came up with the name for the bear it was also set in London because he lived in London. Paddington 2 was still carried on even though he passed away the film was cared for.
